THE TOWN OF BROOKFIELD HAS APPROVED OUR RENTAL LICENSE!
To our followers, listeners, fans and friends—On July 1 the Brookfield Select Board approved a one-year renewal of our rental license for the Town Hall Green Room. Instrumental in this process was Interim Town Administrator Blythe Robinson, a true professional who cut through the confusion and came up with a new agreement without having to negotiate the red tape and delays inherent in Mass. General Law 30B, Section 16, which had been cited by the Select Board as the actual and only path we were supposed to follow.
Now that the legal issues have been settled, we’re busy lining up contractors to get us back on the air! We’ll keep you up to date on our progress here and on our website applecountryradio.org.
Our new license agreement went into effect on July 1 of this year and expires on June 30, 2027, which brings it in line with the Town’s fiscal year. We were also billed for 14 months of electricity ($2,450) even though we were not in residence in that space for that whole time, and only using the overhead lighting when we were, because it had been part of the original license agreement that had expired on April 1. If you’d like to help us get past this big hit on our budget, please consider donating to our PayPal account or donate by mail at the address on that page. Any amount will help and will be greatly appreciated!
